Where Do the Words/Images/Ideas Come From?

Where Do the Words/Images/Ideas Come From? Spoiler alert – there is no One True Answer. Welcome to arts philosophy. Photo by Dollar Gill on Unsplash Creativity comes in many sizes, shapes, and forms. The creative process goes into making every form of art. Whether it’s paint, clay, words, or some other medium, there’s a procedure on the part of the creator. There is never One True Way. The process I employ for writing is not

Storyteller’s Log, 14 August 2025

Storyteller’s Log, 14 August 2025 Korbin opines about my journaling. I have returned from another 10-day sojourn at the Pennsic War. Twenty-nine years and counting since 1996 (minus 2 years due to the Pandemic). It was a mixed bag in many respects. Earning a Living Via Your Art

Earning a Living Via Your Art Some thoughts on the various inherent challenges. Photo by Kévin et Laurianne Langlais on Unsplash Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I had a decent, albeit part-time, job. The ideas flowed and I lost all sense of time and space. Before I knew it, I had laid

Storyteller’s Log, 24 July 2025

For 10 days or so, I’ll be living in my tall, 12×12 canvas pavilion and sleeping on a full-sized tatami mat (on a frame). This is decadent camping, as my group has an impressive kitchen setup, showers, and other infrastructure for comfort.
