But now a threat from the void between the galaxies has arrived. The incursion will forever change the fabric of the galaxy and the lives of all those within it. Book 1, Opening Gambit
For tens of thousands of years, the races of a far-off galaxy have co-existed, mostly civilly. Over the millennia, each has spread beyond the cradle and created vast societies, kingdoms, nations, and associations across multiple solar systems.
While much of the universe is still uncharted, the greatest enigma is the void. The emptiness between galaxies has always been a source of mystery and disquiet, but none are prepared when a new threat emerges from the unknown darkness.
A former starfighter pilot, a deposed queen, a broker of commodities and influence, a pirate crew, and an average family man find their lives upended, separately and together. All will face choices that lead to confrontation with the extragalactic invaders, whether they like it or not. The opening gambit of the void incursion will forever change life across the galaxy. The only question is, how much?
Book 2, Critical Position
The infiltrators from the void between galaxies are increasing their attacks. Striking with weapons and force never before seen, they are devastating, and determined to leave no witnesses. More and more races across the galaxy are being attacked by this threat, but why?
Former military pilot Jeck Murtsharn and the crew of the starship Dawnstrider, DDI Hectir and the Cosmic Security Agency, Shi’tra and the pirate crew of the Ravusqan Raider, and information broker Avra Pii K’tark’ah all find themselves unwitting pieces on an immense chessboard. Each takes a critical position against the void incursion, knowingly and otherwise. But who are these invaders, and why are they attacking?
Book 3, Strategic Crush
The attacks by the invaders from the void grow fiercer, and new targets are obliterated with their deadly weapons. Still, their motivation is unknown.
The crew of the Dawnstrider have entered into an alliance with the pirate crew of the Ravusqan Raider, working to spread knowledge of the unusual attackers. Alvon Gargarm, freed from enslavement, joins the Cosmic Security Agency. The attacking infiltrators are not the only force from beyond the void. Another arrives, fighting the invaders. But are they saviors, or another threat? To avoid the strategic crush, new allies must be made.
Book 4, Antipositional Moves
The peoples of the galaxy are no longer alone in their fight. The invaders, called the Ditufgne, have an enemy with equal or perhaps greater force, the Xorcerizts.
This new but familiar race has an offer that could give everyone a fighting chance, and could fundamentally change governance across the galaxy. The crews of the Dawnstrider and Ravusqan Raider find themselves unexpectedly in the middle of history. What is the motivation of the Ditufgne? Are the Xorcerizts truly intent on helping? Is the end of the incursion near, or is there worse on the horizon?
Book 5, Check and Mate
The endgame is at hand. The races of the galaxy have come together to form the new Interplanetary Interspecies Treaty Organization, satisfying what the Xorcerizts required. Now the Xorcerizts will provide weapons sufficient to fight the Ditufgne, because if they aren’t stopped soon, they never will be.
Through critical positions, strategic crushes, and antipositional moves, the denizens of the galaxy have been set for one incredible match. Who will declare checkmate and emerge victorious?
