A book trailer, like a movie trailer, is a preview created to generate excitement. This is something I’ve not really made use of before but decided to try my hand at now.
My new trilogy, Savagespace, will be published this Fall (2024). The current plan is Book 1 in September, Book 2 in October, and Book 3 in November. All three will be published as an eBook, paperback, and audiobook.
As of this writing, Alliances and Consequences (Book 1) has been fully edited, and I’m completing the edits on the audiobook recording. Book 2, Revelations and Reconciliations, is back from the editor. I’m going over her edits and recording the audiobook. Challengers and Survivors (Book 3) is out with the editor and will be back in early August.
Both in part for accountability and to start promoting things, today felt like the right day to release the first teaser/trailer.

My artist, Rose Butcher, is amazing. The work she’s done this far has been incredible. There’s other art she’s done for me for Savagespace that my newsletter readers have been privy to. I plan to get more and share it in other ways.
Presently, Rose is working on the paperback cover for Alliances and Consequences. I recently completed the blurb for it:

This motley crew of misfits must risk everything to expose the danger and preserve life. Can Darius and his crew outmaneuver their enemies and become the unexpected saviors of the galaxy or will war tear everything asunder?

This book trailer is a teaser
I created this teaser both as a 15-second and 30-second promo. The shorter is what I’m sharing publicly today.
This was my creation, something I was able to put together on Canva. I love having these new tools for this sort of thing. I’m doing my best to make use of them and learn what else I can do.
As an indie-author/authorpreneur, it’s on me to be my marketing department. This is a tool I’ve not really utilized before, so I figured it was worth a shot.
I know I can make longer trailers and do other things with the art I’m getting to promote this series. One of my goals is to develop some buzz before Book 1 even comes out.
